Our state governed incarceration practices are inadequate and atomistic. It is hard to know if the mental health and prison reform services help or hinder. How far do these practices cancel the individual? Are we fundamentally lacking the holistic nurturing that is required for a vulnerable person to thrive and flourish? Is locking a person up rehabilitative and therapeutic or damaging and ultimately counterintuitive, leading to disadvantaged futures? More broadly, we can conceive of our daily lives as a type of incarceration that imprisons us, we are condemned to our roles in a capitalist machine. "Incarcerate as in cancel" critiques the systems of power that we find ourselves living within, among and alongside.
11oz pure white cup with "incarcerate as in cancel" embossed in black.
